Description / Hudson Valley Hampton Ceiling Light in Old Bronze
When Queen Victoria of England entered her 50th year on the throne in 1887, an imperial holiday was declared and public celebrations spanned the empire. In photos from India, a distinctive array of glass lanterns can be seen lighting up these events. Their designs represented the union of Anglo and Indian influences, and they were the inspiration behind the Hampton ceiling light from Hudson Valley. Featuring an oversized bell jar shade with a diamond cut pattern and a candelabra and canopy finished in a rich Old Bronze, this lovely vintage-looking light will lend your home a worldly, nostalgic charm.

Brand Information

The family-owned Hudson Valley Lighting was actually born from a demonstration of fluorescent lighting at the 1939 New York World’s Fair. That demo was done by William Littman, who operated a lighting business out of his garage but moved to New York’s Hudson River Valley in the late 1940s out of a need for more space. The beautiful surroundings inspired the name of his lighting company and the artful light fixtures they create. Today, Hudson Valley also includes Troy Lighting, Sonneman and Corbett Lighting, but the commitment to creating high-quality lighting with nods to the past remains as strong as ever.
