Trade winds lighting ceiling fan

We purchased this for my 12 year old son. He loves the look of the fan, the remote lets him turn off the light from his bed. He is tall so the closeness to the ceiling is terrific.

I love the fan. Only I don't like it because there was no pull chain to turn light/fan on. All I got was a remote to turn it on. If remote breaks there is no way to turn it off.
